Ramajogayya Sastry (born August 24, 1970, in Arepalli Muppalla, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh) is a leading Telugu film lyricist and a metallurgical engineer‑turned‑songwriter. After completing his B.Tech at NIT Warangal and M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur, he worked in Bengaluru before entering the film industry, first being mentored by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. He penned his debut Telugu songs in the film Yuvasena, and gained fame with the upbeat “Om Namaste Bolo” from Ready. Over a career spanning two decades, he has written lyrics for over a hundred films, earning awards such as Filmfare for Khaleja and Janatha Garage, SIIMA and Nandi honours for hits like “Srimanthuda” and “Pranaamam”. Known for combining catchy, mass-appeal writing with deep emotion, his works—including the huge hit “Butta Bomma”—have resonated widely. In May 2025, he was honoured with the prestigious Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry Memorial Award, recognizing his literary and lyrical contributions to Telugu cinema
