Lakhwinder Wadali, born on April 20, 1978, in Guru Ki Wadali village near Amritsar, Punjab, is an acclaimed Indian singer and musician from the renowned Wadali family, famous for its legacy in Punjabi Sufi and classical music. He is the son of Ustad Puran Chand Wadali and nephew of Piyare Lal Wadali, who together formed the celebrated Sufi qawwali duo, the Wadali Brothers. Trained extensively in classical music under his father, Lakhwinder blends classical traditions with contemporary styles, specializing in Sufi saints’ compositions, romantic and folk songs, ghazals, bhajans, and bhangra. His singing prominently features classical techniques such as alaaps and taans. He has earned notable awards, including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, and holds a master’s degree in music. Lakhwinder Wadali has released several albums like “Unpredictable,” “Naina De Buhe,” and “Mahiya,” and has collaborated with famous artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal.
