Shashwat Sachdev is an acclaimed Indian music composer, lyricist, and playback singer, born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He started learning music at the age of three, focusing on Hindustani classical vocals under Guru Ustad Ramzan Khan for 21 years, alongside training in Western classical piano during his school years. Shashwat began his career in 2011 in Hollywood, working with renowned figures such as Tony Maserati, before returning to India in 2016. His breakthrough as a film composer came with the Bollywood movie “Phillauri” (2017). He is best known for composing the music and background score for the highly successful film “Uri: The Surgical Strike” (2019), for which he won the National Film Award for Best Background Music, the Filmfare R.D. Burman Award for best new talent, and the IIFA Award for best background score. Shashwat has also composed for films like “Veere Di Wedding,” “Kaalakaandi,” “Attack: Part 1,” and “Tejas.” Apart from film scores, he has released independent music, including the critically acclaimed album “Euphoria (And The Following Realities).” He holds a law degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and is married to Shruti Sachdev. His work is noted for blending classical Indian traditions with contemporary sounds, earning him recognition as a leading new talent in Indian music.
