Riar Saab—born Tarun Singh Surjeet Singh Riyar in Dhupai, Gurdaspur (Punjab)—is a prominent Punjabi rapper and singer known for merging traditional rural Punjabi influences with modern hip-hop and pop production. Originally performing under the name Frenzy as part of hip-hop collective Aavrutti, he later adopted the persona “Riar Saab” and signed with Divine’s Gully Gang. He shot to fame in 2022 with his viral hit “Obsessed,” featuring Abhijay Sharma, which amassed over 100 million streams and was embraced broadly after being popularized via a reel. As of July 2025, Riar Saab boasts over 1.5 million monthly listeners and 219 million total streams, with top tracks like “Obsessed,” “Hood Life,” “Cash Flow,” “Dreams,” and “Promise.” In November 2023, he released his debut EP How I Love—a five-track project centered around love and romance featuring collaborations with Kunwarr and production by Hashbass, Flamboy, Stunnah Beatz, and Abhijay Sharma.
