Sai Abhyankkar, born on November 4, 2004, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian composer and singer who gained widespread recognition with his debut independent single “Katchi Sera” in January 2024. The song went viral globally and became one of the most searched songs of the year, amassing over 300 million views on YouTube. He is the son of famous playback singers Tippu and Harini, and his sister Sai Smriti is also a singer. Sai is a multi-instrumentalist, skilled in tabla, mridangam, piano, drums, and guitar, and he started composing music in his early teens. After his debut success, he released another hit single “Aasa Kooda,” which surpassed “Katchi Sera” in views. He made his film composition debut with the Tamil movie Benz in 2024 and replaced A.R. Rahman as the composer for the film Karuppu (2025). Sai is known for blending melodic richness with contemporary styles and is regarded as one of the rising stars in Tamil music.
