Antara Mitra, born on 10 July 1987 in Maslandapur, West Bengal, is a renowned Indian playback singer known for her soulful and versatile voice. Coming from a musically inclined family, with her father being a music teacher, Antara developed a passion for singing at a young age. She rose to fame as a finalist on Indian Idol 2 in 2006, which opened the doors to the Bollywood music industry. Her breakthrough came with the duet “Bheegi Si Bhaagi Si” from the film Raajneeti alongside Mohit Chauhan, earning her wide appreciation. Antara gained further popularity with massive hits like “Gerua” and “Janam Janam” from the film Dilwale (2015), where her melodious pairing with Arijit Singh won hearts globally. She has recorded songs in multiple languages including Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, and English. In addition to her playback career, she has also served as a judge on music reality shows, inspiring young artists.
