Anurag Saikia (born December 1988 in Moran, Assam) is a celebrated Indian composer, music director, producer, and instrumentalist recognized for weaving Assamese folk traditions into contemporary film and independent music. One of the youngest recipients of the prestigious National (Rajat Kamal) Award for best music direction in a non-feature film, he earned it for scoring the Assamese short Yugadrashta. Trained at Cotton College, Guwahati, and later at the Swarnabhumi Academy of Music in Chennai, Anurag blends orchestral grandeur with subtle regional textures. He has scored acclaimed Bollywood films like Article 15, Thappad, Mulk, and Karwaan, as well as beloved web series including Panchayat, Gullak, and Mismatched. Venture projects such as Project Borgeet—which syncs centuries‑old Assamese devotional songs with symphonic orchestration—demonstrate his artistic vision. In 2025, he won the IIFA Digital Award for Best Title Track for “Ishq Hai” from Mismatched Season 3. Praised by peers like Vishal Dadlani as “one of the most progressive composers” of his generation, Anurag continues to champion cultural depth and sonic innovation.
