Aseem (full name Aseem Dhaneshwar) is a Pune-based independent singer-songwriter, producer, and sound engineer whose work blends contemporary pop, ambient electronica, and Indian classical sensibilities. A framed tabla practitioner from childhood, he joined art-rock and progressive bands in his teens before studying audio engineering in London. He worked behind the scenes with artists like Shalmali Kholgade, Monali Thakur, and Darshan-Umang before launching his solo career. His debut single Dreamscapes appeared in 2017, followed by Chaalaakiyan (2018), and the viral hit Khoya (2020), which elevated his visibility across platforms. His EP Ilaaj demonstrated his thoughtful fusion of emotive lyricism with electronic production. Now active on livestream tours and playlists, Aseem represents India’s next wave of genre-fluid indie pop artists driving creative experimentation.
