Baani Sandhu, born Rupinder Kaur Sandhu on 18 December 1993 in Amritsar, Punjab, and raised in Mohali, is a Punjabi singer-songwriter and actress known for her bold style and energetic vocals. She began her musical journey by posting singing videos on social media and earned early mentorship from lyricist Jassi Lohka. Baani made her artistic debut in 2018 with the Punjabi song “Fauji Di Bandook”, followed by the popular collaboration “Gunday Ik Vaar Fer” with Dilpreet Dhillon. Her breakout hit “8 Parche” (2019) made her one of the fastest Punjabi female singers to cross 300 million views on YouTube, solidifying her longtime presence in regional music. She has since released celebrated tracks such as “Photo,” “Sarpanchi,” “Punjaban,” and “Affair,” blending youthful energy with Punjabi pop sensibility.
