Falguni Pathak (born 12 March 1969 in Mumbai) is an iconic Indian singer, composer, and performer best known as the undisputed “Queen of Dandiya.” With musical roots deeply embedded in Gujarati folk traditions, she made her debut in the late 1980s and rose to fame with her vibrant Navratri performances, especially in Gujarat and Mumbai. Her breakthrough came with the 1998 pop album Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi, which featured evergreen hits like “Maine Payal Hai Chhankai”, “Chudi Jo Khanki”, and “Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye.” Known for her energetic live shows backed by her band Ta Thaiyaa, she draws massive crowds each season and redefined festive music culture. Falguni is also celebrated for blending love-themed pop with folk melodies in both Hindi and Gujarati languages. With a career spanning over three decades and unforgettable live presence, she remains a cultural institution in Indian festival music and pop folklore.
