K. S. Harisankar (born November 18, 1993, in Haripad, Kerala) is a celebrated Indian playback singer, music producer, and trained classical vocalist who first sang alongside legend K. J. Yesudas at age four. Belonging to a distinguished musical family—his grandmother being Carnatic scholar K. Omanakutty and his great‑uncles renowned composer M. G. Radhakrishnan and singer M. G. Sreekumar—he initially pursued a dental degree before fully transitioning to music. He made his professional debut in 2014, and rose to fame with soulful Malayalam hits such as “Jeevamshamayi,” “Pavizha Mazhaye,” “Nee Himamazha,” and others. Harisankar is also the frontman of the indie band Pragathi, which he formed with close associates to release originals and memorable covers. He lent his voice to the Malayalam version of “Naatu Naatu” from RRR, and continues to blend classical training with contemporary styles—performing at Carnatic sabhas and film stages alike—and is recognized for his rich tonal quality, dynamic range, and devotion to both tradition and innovation.
