Kunal Ganjawala (born April 14, 1972 in Pune, Maharashtra) is a renowned Indian playback singer celebrated for his smooth, high-pitched voice that became iconic in the early 2000s. He started his career by singing jingles, including the famous “Doodh Doodh” campaign, and earned his Bollywood breakthrough with the 2002 film Ab Ke Baras, but his meteoric rise came with the 2004 hit “Bheege Honth Tere” from Murder, which swept multiple awards including Zee Cine and IIFA honors for Best Playback Singer. He versatilely sang across languages—performing in Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Assamese—and recorded over 250 Kannada songs, including major hits like “Neene Neene” and “Onde Ondu Sari.” Known for blending pop, jazz, and rock sensibilities, he recorded other memorable tracks such as “O Humdum Suniyo Re” (Saathiya), “Salaame” (Dhoom), and “Raat Ke Dhai Baje” (Kaminey). After a sabbatical, he returned to regional music and occasionally performs live, remaining a beloved presence in Indian music culture.
