Madhavas is a Mumbai-based devotional-rock collective that blends high-energy rock instrumentation with spiritual kirtans rooted in Vaishnav traditions. Founded by guitarist-singer Nirdosh Sobti and his fellow engineering classmates, the band transformed after joining ISKCON, choosing their name to signify devotion to Madhava. They rose to national attention after securing third place on a major reality show and have since become staples at Vyas Puja, Rath Yatra festivals, and charitable events across India. With the eight-member ensemble—including prominent roles on rhythm guitar, bass, drums, visual direction, and vocals—they infuse traditional chants like Krishna Krishna and Radhe Kishori with driving guitar riffs, modern percussion, and devotional fervor. Their South Mumbai shows often attract children and youth drawn to their fusion of rock sensibility and spiritual music. Formed in student years and now backed by years of stage experience, Madhavas continue producing original devotional albums and live performances that inspire both devotion and dance.
