Mickey J. Meyer, born Mikkilineni Madhavarao in Hyderabad, is an acclaimed Indian music composer, songwriter, and singer best known for his work in Telugu cinema, though he has also composed for Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. Raised in a musical family, he began learning piano and violin at a young age, trained in Carnatic music, and furthered his musical education at Trinity College of Music in London. Inspired by composers like A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, Meyer entered the film industry in 2005 with “Pothe Poni” and rose to prominence with the chart-topping soundtrack for “Happy Days” (2007), which earned him multiple major awards and established his place in Tollywood. His notable works include “Kotha Bangaru Lokam,” “Leader,” “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu,” “A Aa,” “Mahanati,” and “Shyam Singha Roy,” known for their harmonious blend of Western and Indian influences. He has received two Filmfare Awards South and three Nandi Awards for Best Music Director, making him one of the most distinguished and consistently successful composers in South Indian cinema.
