Rahgir, born Sunil Kumar Gurjar on May 18, 1993, in Sikar, Rajasthan, is an acclaimed independent singer-songwriter, lyricist, and author known for infusing folk, country, and literary realism into contemporary Indian music. Raised in a rural family, Rahgir’s early life in Khandela deeply influenced his storytelling, reflecting simple village experiences and everyday struggles. After graduating in engineering from Lovely Professional University and working as a software engineer in Pune, he left his corporate job to follow his musical passion. Inspired by icons like Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, he taught himself guitar and began sharing original compositions that ponder on societal issues, wanderlust, and human emotions. Songs like “Aadmi Bhutiya Hai,” “Mere Gaon Aaoge,” “Kya Jaipur Kya Dilli,” and “Kachha Ghada” gained viral fame, celebrated for their poignant lyrics and relatable melodies. Also an author of the poetry anthology “Kaisa Kutta Hai,” Rahgir has performed across India, using music as a medium to connect with people and spread authentic stories of life and self-discovery.
