Sez On The Beat, born Sajeel Kapoor, is a pioneering hip-hop music producer and beatmaker from New Delhi who played a defining role in bringing Indian rap to the mainstream. His breakout work came with the iconic track “Mere Gully Mein,” which helped inspire the celebrated film Gully Boy. He has since produced for major independent artists including Divine, Naezy, Prabh Deep, Seedhe Maut, Badshah, Ikka and more, becoming known for gritty, atmospheric soundscapes that blend Indian musical textures with sharp trap elements. In 2020 he launched his own collective and label, The MVMNT, and departed from Azadi Records following disputes over payments. His post-label releases include the intense cypher‑style track “GOONJ” and the culturally rooted single “Dev Nagri” with rapper Dakait. Critics and fans frequently compare him to the Dr. Dre of Indian hip-hop, and he is consistently ranked among the top producers in the scene for his signature mix of raw energy, depth, and sonic innovation.
