Taba Chake, born on 24 December 1993 in a village called Rono in Arunachal Pradesh, is a gifted Nyishi finger‑style guitarist, singer‑songwriter and composer now based in Mumbai. Growing up in a remote tribal community, he began writing songs at age eleven and learned multiple languages—Nyishi, Hindi, English, Assamese and Nepali—which he seamlessly blends in his music. His first EP, Bond with Nature (2016), reflected his deep connection to nature and life in Arunachal, while his breakout album Bombay Dreams (2019) captured the emotional journey of moving from a small village to the chaotic city, featuring multilingual tracks full of hope and introspection. With acclaimed songs like “Shaayad,” “Aao Chalein,” “Walk With Me,” and “Blush,” Chake emerged as a distinct voice in India’s indie-folk scene. He made his Bollywood debut in 2024, composing and singing the soundtrack for Shoojit Sircar’s film I Want to Talk. Known for heartfelt storytelling, soulful melodies, and a trance of analog warmth, Taba Chake continues to inspire with his poetic, genre-blending music.
